पृथ्वी के व्यास के दोनों शीर्ष बिन्दु अथवा वे स्थान जो प्रत्यक्ष रूप से एक दूसेर क विपरीत हैं। इन के बीच यदि कोई सीधी रेखा खींची जाए तो वह पृथ्वी - केन्द्र से होकर गुजरेगी ।

The points at either end of a diameter of the earth. Any line jointing these points will pass through the centre of the earth.

ऐपियानस प्रक्षेप

एक विशेष प्रकार का प्रक्षेप जिसकी रचना पेंट्रस ऐपियानस (1495-1554) ने की थी। इस प्रक्षेप में अक्षांश रेखाएं क्षैतिज और देशआंतर रेखाएं धनुषाकार होती हैं ।

A type of sterographic projection invented by Petrus Apianus (1495- 1554). This projection consists of horizontal parallels and arcuate meridians.

किसी हवाई अड्डे के समीपवर्ती क्षेत्र का एक ऐसा चार्ट जो सुरक्षित यान संचालन के लिए तैयार किया जाता है और जिसमें हवाई पट्टी एवं भूमि की सामान्य आकृतियों के साथ - साथ भौतिक एवं क्रत्रिम रूकावटों को ऊंचाइयों एवं स्थितियों को भी दर्शाया जाता है ।

A chart for safe navigation in the vicinity of an aerodrome. This chart contains items of air strips and obsructions with their heights and positions and general features.

इस शब्द का उपयोग सामान्यतः उन्नीसवीं अर्धशताब्दी पूर्व उल्कीर्णित मानचित्र पाण्डुलिपि के लिए किया जाता है ।

This term is often used loosely to describe manuscript of engraved map producted before the middle of the 19th Century.

वह आरेख जो अभीष्ट वस्तु के मात्रात्मक पक्ष को अनुपातिक रूप में किसी भी क्षेत्रफल दर्शाने वाली ज्यामितीय आकृति के माध्यम से दर्शाता है। इसे क्षेत्रीय आलेख भी कहते हैं ।
