Armadillo projection

आर्मेडिलो प्रक्षेप

एक विशेष प्रकार का प्रक्षेप जिसका नाम मेक्सिकों में पाये जाने वाले आर्मेडिलो नामक छोटे पशु के नाम पर पड़ा है, जो डर से सिकुड़ कर गोलाकर हो जाता है । इस प्रक्षेप पर बने मानचित्र की रचना लम्बकोणीय प्रक्षेप ( आर्थोग्राफीय प्रक्षेप) पर बने मानचित्र की तरह की जाती है । देखिए लम्बदूरान्तिक प्रक्षेप ।

The Armadillo projection got its name from the little Mexican animal that coils itself into a sphere, if frightened. The construction of map on this projection is similar to that of orthographic projection. See Orthoapsidal projection.
