बैविलोनियाई मानचित्र

सबसे प्राचीन ज्ञात मानचित्र जो इस समय हार्वर्ड विश्वविद्यालय के सेमाइटी संग्रहालय मे रखा हुआ है । यह मानचित्र वैविलोन से लगभग 320 किलोमीटर उत्तर में गासुर नामक ध्वस्त शहर की खुदाई के दौरान मिला था । मानचित्र एक पकी हुई ईंट के रूप में है । इसमें संभवता फरात नदी की घाटी दर्शाई गई है ।

The oldest known map now on exhibition in Semitic museum of Harvord university, was discovered in excavating the ruined city of Gasur about 320 km. north of Babylon. The map is in the shape of a baked brick. It shows the euphrate river valley.

वह ग्राफ जिसके क्षेतिज अक्ष पर वर्ष और ऊर्ध्वाधर अक्ष पर मात्राएं आलेखित की जाती हैं और जिससे एक निश्चित अवधि में वस्तु की सम्पूर्ण मात्रा एवं उसके अवयवों की विभिन्न प्रवृत्तियां प्रकट होती हैं . इसे कभी कबी मिक्ष आलेख 'मिश्र रेखा 'ग्राफ' या 'समुच्च्य रेखा ग्राफ' भी कहते हैं ।

दंडारेख (स्तम्भग्राफ)

वह आरेख जिसमें अनेक दंड या स्तंभ होते हैं जो निरूपित मात्राओं के अनुपात के अनुसार लंबाई में खींचे जाते हैं । ये दो प्रकार के होते हैं प्रथम - साधारण, जिसमें प्रत्येक दंड या स्तंभ कुल राशि या मान को प्रदर्शित करता है, द्वितीय मिश्र, जिसमें प्रत्येक दंड या स्तम्भ, घटकों एवं मानों को प्रदर्शित करने के लिये विभाजित कर दिये जाते हैं । ये दण्ड या स्तम्भ क्षैतिज या ऊर्ध्वाधर खींचे जा सकते हैं ।

A diagram which consists of bars or columns drawn lengthwise according to the proportion of the quantities represented. They are of two types, one is known as simple bar diagram in which every bar or column displays total value, and the other is known as compound bar diagram in which bars or columns are divided proportionately in order to show the amounts of different components or values. The bars or columns may be drawn vertically or horizontally.
