वह मानचित्र जिसमें वे समुद्री मार्ग अथवा अंतःस्थालीय जल मार्ग, निरूपित किए जाते हैं जिनका उपयोग नौ परिवहन सेवाएं नियमित रूप से करती है ।

पारदर्शी कागज़ पर बने मानचित्रों की एक सीरीज़, जिसमें से प्रत्येक मानचित्र कुछ घटकों के वितरण को प्रकट करता है । इनके अध्यारोपित करने पर ये मनचित्र उपयुक्त या अनुपयुक्त दोनों को अलग कर देते हैं । इस शब्द का उपयोग ई. जी. आर. टेलर महोदया ने 1938 में कुछ औद्योगिक स्थानों के अध्ययन के सन्दर्भ में किया था ।

A series of maps, drawn on transparent paper, each of which depicts the distribution of some factor, if super - imposed, the sieve maps will sieve out suitable or unsuitable areas. The term was coined by E.G.R. Taylor in 1938 in connection with a study of industrial locations.

एक रंग में पुनरोत्पादित मानचित्र । इसे एक वर्णी मानचित्र भी कहते हैं ।

एक विशेष मुद्रण प्रणाली से बनाया गया थिमैटिक मानचित्र । इस प्रणाली के अंतर्गत एक ही रंग की विभिन्न बिंदु प्रतिशतता (उदाहरणार्थ काले 20%, 40% तथा 70% ) के आधार पर वांछित डिटेलों को मुद्रित किया जाता है ।

A thematic map prepared by a special printing method. In this method the no. of printing colours can be reduced by showing various detail with different dot percentages (e.g. black 20%, 40% and 70% ) the various details are then printed with same black ink, but rendered by different tones.
