Lafreri Atlas

लैफरेरी एटलस

वह एटसल जिसमें रोम के सन् 1556 से 1572 तक के सर्वेत्तम मानचित्र विशेषज्ञों, गैस्टाल्डी, बेरटेली, जालटिएरी आदि द्वारा तैयार किए गए अनेक प्रकार के छपे मानचित्र हैं । लैफरेरी एटसल की प्रतियां प्राप्त करना दुर्लभ है और वे बहुत अधिक मूल्य की हैं ।

The atlas which contains a miscellany of printed maps of Rome prepared by the best cartographeres of the age (1556 to 1572), Viz. Gastaldi, Bartelli, Zaltieri etc. Copies of the lafreri Atlas are rare and highly priced.

लैम्बर्ट अनुरूप प्रक्षेप

एक प्रकार का शांकव प्रक्षेप जिसमें अक्षांश रेखाएं समान दूरी पर सीधी होती हैं । इसमें दोनों मानक आक्षांशों पर पैमाना सही होता है, और इनसे उत्तर और दक्षिण की ओर बढ़ता जाता है । प्रत्येक बिन्दु पर दिशा शुद्ध होने के कारण इस प्रक्षेप का उपयोग वैमानिक चार्ट, मौसम मानचित्र एवं वितरण मानचित्रों क लिए किया जाता है ।

A type of conic projection in which parallels are concerntric circles, meridians are equally spaced radiating straight lines. The scale is true on two standard parallels increasing north and south from them. This projection gives direction at every point and is used for aeronautical charts, weather maps, distribution maps where correct direction is important.

एक विशेष प्रकार का मानचित्र जिसमें पृथ्वी पृष्ठ के विशिष्ट लक्षणों जैसे - मैदान, पठार, पर्वत, नदियों, झीलों तथा सागरों की आकृति, रूप एवं प्रकृति को विभिन्न प्रतीकों की सहायता से दर्शाया जाता है ।

A type of map on which the shape, form and nature of a specific feature for example plain, plateau, mountain, rivers, lakes and seas of earth's land surface are represented with the help of different symbols. Lobeck has used the term physiographic diagram but morphographic diagram is more preferred by Raiz.
