किसी साइकिल के चक्र में लगा एक ऐसा उपकरण जो तय की गई दूरी को अंकित करता है ।

बेलनाकार समक्षेत्र प्रक्षेप

वह प्रक्षेप जिसमें सभी देशान्तर एवं अक्षांश रेखाएं सीधी रेखांए होती हैं और एक दूसरे को समकोण पर काटती हैं । विषुवत रेखा को पैमाने के अनुसार वास्तविक लम्बाई (2πR) मे रखा जाता है और उसको समान अन्तराल पर विभाजित किया जाता है। इसको समक्षेत्र बनाने के लिए दो अक्षांशो के बीच के क्षेत्र को उसी अनुपात मे रखा जाता है जैसा कि ग्लोब पर मापानुसार होता है। इसमें विषुवत रेखा से ध्रुवों की ओर अक्षांशो के बीच की दूरी घटती जाती है।

A projection with meridians and parallels as straight lines intersecting each other at right angles. The equator is made at its true length to scale (2πR) and divided equally for meridian intersections. To make this an equal area projection, the area between any two parallels is made the same as on globe true to scale. In this the distance between the two parallels reduces from equator to pole ward.

बेलनाकार समदूरस्थ प्रक्षेप

एक बेलनाकार प्रक्षेप जिसमें अक्षांश एवं देशान्तर रेखाएं समान अंतराल पर खींची गई सीधी रेखाएं होती हैं जो एक दूसरे को समकोण पर काटती हैं। विषुवत रेखा वास्तविक माप पर खींची जाती है तथा देशान्तरों के काटन बिन्दुओं पर समान - दूरियों में विभाजित की जाती हैं । अन्य सभी अक्षांश रेखाएं विषुवत रेखा के बराबर होती हैं । याम्योत्तर रेखाएं लम्बाई में विषुवत रेखा की आधी होती है । विषुवत रेखा तथा सभी देशान्तर रेखाओं पर माप शुद्ध होता है । यह प्रक्षेप न तो समक्षेत्र और न ही समरूप प्रक्षेप है ।

A cylindrical projection in which the parellels and maridians are two sets of equidistant straight lines cutting at right angles. The euqator is drawn true to scale and is divided equally for meridian intersections. All other parallels are equal to it, the meridians are half of the equator in length. The scale is true on the equator and on all the meridians. The projection is neither equal area nor conformal.

बेलनाकार प्रक्षेप

मानचित्र प्रक्षेपों का वह वर्ग जिसमें बेलन ग्लोब को किसी वांछित अक्षांश पर स्पर्श करता हुआ अथवा दो अक्षांशों पर काटता हुआ माना जाता है । इस वर्ग के प्रक्षेप में अक्षांश एवं देशान्तर रेखाएं सीधी होती है और एक दूसरे को समकोण पर काटती है । इस प्रक्षेप पर ध्रुव बिन्दु विषुवत रेखा के बराबर एक सीधी रेखा द्वारा दर्शाया जाता है ।

A group of projection in which the cylinder is supposed to be tangent at a desired latitude or cuts the globe along two latitudes. The latitudes and longitudes are straight lines intersecting each other at right angle. The pole in this projection is shown by a straight line equal to the length of the equator.
