समोच्चरेखा मानचित्र

वह मानचित्र जिसमें केवल समोच्चरेखाएं ही प्रदर्शित की जाती है ।

A map which delineates only contour - lines.

समोच्चरेखा मूलारेख

समोच्च रेखाओं तथा अन्य मदों को निरूपित करने वाला सुरेखित मूलारेख जिस पर समोच्च रेखाएं भूरे रंग की खींची होती हैं । ऐसे सभी प्रकाशित मानचित्रों पर उच्च पहाड़ी प्रदेशों में पाये जाने वाली हिमाकृतियों को नीले रंग मे प्रदर्शित किया जाता है ।

A fair drawn original representing contours and other items which appear in brown on the published map. It will also show snow features in high hill country which will be in blue in all the published maps.

नियंत्रित मोजेक

वह मोजेक जो उन फोटो चित्रों से तैयार किया जाता है जिनको शोधित एवं अनुपातिक किया जा चुका है। जिस पैमाने पर फोटो को अनुपातिक किया जाता है उसी पैमाने पर क्षैतिज नियंत्रण अंकित किया जाता है।

Mosaic prepared from the photographs which have been rectified and ratioed. Horizontal control points are plotted at the same scale as ratioed photo scale.

रूढ़ प्रक्षेप

एक प्रकार का मानचित्र प्रक्षेप, जो किसी गणितीय सूत्र के अनुसार तैयार किया जाता है तथा जिसका चयन किसी गुण को प्रर्दशित करने के उद्देश्य से किया जाता है। यह संदर्श प्रक्षेप से भिन्न होता है।

A type of map projection constructed according to a mathematical formula. It is not a perspective projeciton. The formula is selected to presserve some particular property.

मानक चिह्न

मानचित्र पर किसी तत्व को प्रर्दशित करने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाने वाला चिह्न। जब कभी भी मानचित्र का पैमाना इस प्रकार का होता है कि यह तत्व पैमाने के अनुसार प्रकट नही किया जा सकता तो यह मानक चिह्न एक अक्षर या प्रतीक हो सकता है।

A standard sign used on a map to indicate a particular feature, wherever the scale of map is such that this feature can not be drawn to scale, it may be a letter or a symbol.

उत्तल ढाल

जब समोच्चरेखाएं किसी शीर्ष के अलावा किसी अन्य स्थान की ओर अधिकतम निकट होती है, तो इस प्रकार के ढाल को उत्तल ढाल कहते है।

When the contours are closest at any other point than the top, e.g. when the space between the contours decreases towards the lower ground, the slope is known as convex.

एक एेसा ग्राफ पेपर जिसका उपयोग परिच्छेदिकाओं आरेखों तथा मानारेखों के बनाने तथा मानचित्र क्षेत्रों को मापने मे किया जाता है।
