लघु परास नौसंचालन का वह तंत्र जिसमें किसी वायुयान या नौका द्वारा प्रेषित दो रैडार सिगनलों को प्राप्त किया जाता है और दो ज्ञात स्थानों से पुनः उन सिगनलों को वायुयान या नौका तक पहुंचाया जाता है । इस प्रक्रिया द्वारा दूरी ज्ञात करके वायुयान या नौका की स्थिति निश्चित की जाती है ।
A system of short range navigation in which two radar signal transmitted by an aeroplane or a ship are intersepted and rebroadcast to the plane or ship by two ground stations of known position with the time that the signals take for their round trips indicating the distance to reach station, and thus the position of the aeroplane or ship is determined.

छन्नी मानचित्र, चालनी मानचित्र
पारदर्शी कागज पर बने मानचित्रों की एक सीरीज जिसमें से प्रत्येक मानचित्र कुछ घटकों के वितरण को प्रकट करता है । इनको अध्यारोपित करने पर यह मानचित्र उपयुक्त या अनुपयुक्त क्षेत्रों को अलग कर देते हैं । इस शब्द का उपयोग ई.जी. आर. टेलर महोदय ने 1938 में कुछ औद्योगिक स्थानों के अध्ययनों के संदर्भ मे किया था ।

सिल्वर प्रिंट
मूल मानचित्र में दिये सभी रंगों से तैयार की गई एक ड्राइंग जिससे फोटोग्राफर सुग्राही कागज पर प्रत्येक रंग के अलग - अलग प्रिंट तैयार करता है । प्रत्येक प्रिंट पर वांछित रंग की रेखाओं को जलसह स्याही से खींच लेता है और अम्ल घोल से वह उस प्रिंट को उस समय तक धोता रहता है जब तक स्याही की रेखाएं स्पष्ट नही हो जाती । इस प्रिंट को सिल्वर प्रिंट कहते हैं ।
A single drawing is made in all the calours of final map from which the photographer makes separate prints for each colour on a chemically treated paper. The lines which are desired in anyone colour are drawn over with waterproof ink, and bleached out with an acid solution until only the inked lines remain. This print is known as silver print.

एक विशेष मुद्रण प्रणाली से बनाया गया थिमैटिक मानचित्र । इस प्रणाली के अन्तर्गत एक ही रंग की विभिन्न बिन्दु प्रतिशतता (उदाहरणार्थ काले 20% 40% तथा 70% ) के आधार पर वाँछित दितेलों को मुद्रित किया जाता है ।
A thematic map prepared by a special printing method. In this method the number of colours can be reduced by showing various details with different dot percentages (e.g. black 20% 40% and 70% ). The various details are then printed with the same black ink but rendered by different tones.

सिंगिल टोन शीट
ड्राइंग कागज की एक ऐसी शीट जिस पर अदृश्य स्याही से बिन्दु अंकित किये जाते हैं । इस शीट पर मानचित्र ठीक उसी प्रकार से बनाया जाता है । जिस प्रकार सामान्य कागज पर और आवश्यकता पड़ने पर इस मानचित्र पर ब्रुश की सहायता से डेवलपर लगा कर बिन्दुओं को प्रकट कर लिया जाता है । इसी को सिंगिल टोन शीट कहते हैं । डबल टोन शीट में दो शेड होते हैं और उस पर दो ही डेवलपर प्रयोग मे लाये जाते हैं ।
A sheet of drawing paper upon which the dots are printed with invisible ink. The map is drawn on the sheet as on ordinary paper & a developer applied with a brush which will bring out the dots in black wherever desired. this is known as single tone sheet. Double tone has two shades brought out by two developers.
