वृत्तारेख मानचित्र

एक विशेष प्रकार का मानचित्र जिसमें विभिन्न आकार के वृत्तों द्वारा वस्तुओं का वितरण प्रदर्शित किया जाता है । इसमें वृत्तों के आकार निरूपित मात्रा के अनुपात में होते हैं ।

A type of map in which the distribution of items is shown by circles of different sizes, the area of each circle being proportionate to the amount to be represented.

एक विशेष प्रकार की लेखनी जिससे आमतौर पर समोच्च रेखाओं में स्याही लगाई जाती है । इससे बहुत बारीक वं एक जैसी रेखाएं बनाई जा सकती है ।

A typical pen used in inking the contours. If properly handled it can draw fine and uniform lines.

वे स्टेशन जिन पर सर्वेक्षक न गया हो, किन्तु जिनका निर्धारण, सीरीज की निरन्तरता बनाये रखने में आवश्यक हो । इनको नियमित स्थलाकृतिक त्रिकोणियन में उपयोग नही किया जाना चाहिये ।

The unvisited stations whose fixing is necessary for the continuity of a series. They should not be made use of in regular topographical triangulation.

(ख) बड़े पैमाने का विस्तृत मानचित्र या चार्ट । यह बहुदा बड़े पैमाने के मानचित्रों का वर्णन करने के लिये प्रयुक्त होता है, जिसमें पैमाने के अनुसार थोड़ा सामान्यीकरण करके इमारतों, सड़कों तथा अन्य मानवनिर्मित आकृतियों की रूपरेखाओं को दर्शाया जाता है ।

Measurements of distances and directions on a plane are called 'plane surveying'. It is in contrast to ' geodetic surveying'.
