mu'jama or ẓādi manḳūṭa, the fifteenth letter of the Arabic alphabet. The eighteenth Persian, and the twenty-first in Hindūstānī ; this letter is purely Arabic, and is said to have a mixed sound of d, th, and w, only to be acquired from natives of Arabia Proper ; but in Persia and India its sound is the same as that of ze : in reckoning by abjad it stands for 800.
